I am endorsing Theresa Venable for District 5 representative on the Anderson County School Board. Ms. Venable is a long time resident of D5, an educator, a librarian, and a parent. She taught for many years and I know that teaching is a challenging job; we owe her a debt of gratitude. Her students tell me they loved her class and they felt she really cared about them; she helped them learn about the world in her social studies class and helped them grow into knowledgeable, responsible adults. Her love and dedication to educating our children demonstrates her commitment and I know she will bring this commitment to our school board to make the schools in Anderson County the best for all our county children.

It is with enthusiasm that I share my support for Theresa Evans Venable, candidate for the District 5 section on the Anderson County School Board. Theresa was my coworker and is a dear friend. The community is fortunate to have a candidate of her caliber and dedication who cares deeply about the quality of education for all students. As a public school teacher, she made a difference in students’ lives. She is respected and appreciated for her many contributions to education. No one is more qualified for this position on the School Board. Theresa proved this through the many ways she has served education from being a public school teacher to volunteering with and serving as programs coordinator for the Children’s Defense Fund at Alex Haley Farm to being a librarian at the Langston Hughes Library. Presently she serves on the Blue Ribbon Book Selection Committee of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Theresa never stopped being involved in education even after her retirement from teaching. As a coworker, I know she cares deeply about finding solutions to present day issues that face education. She is a hard worker and gives of her time tirelessly. Theresa is an excellent listener who will consider options before making important decisions and bring her visions, expertise, and dedication to our schools. In addition to her role as an educator, Theresa has served as Librarian & Children's Defense Fund Program Coordinator at the historic Alex Haley Farm, where she played a pivotal role in preserving the legacy of the renowned author and activist. Through her past and current work with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, she continues to promote literacy, cultural understanding, and community engagement, enriching the lives of residents and visitors alike. As a mentor and friend, she has provided guidance, support, and encouragement to individuals from all walks of life. I still have fond memories from our after-school history club she created to satisfy students' thirst for more knowledge. Out of her pockets, she helped pay for students' meals and trips to historic sites. She's amazing and genuinely cares about our children's education.
